Design and display

The iPhone 16e is equipped with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. However, unlike other models in the iPhone 16 series, it retains the classic notch instead of the modern Dynamic Island. The display also has a refresh rate of 60 Hz, which may disappoint users who are used to smoother 120 Hz screens. The design of the device resembles the iPhone 14, with an aluminum body and a glass back panel.

Performance and autonomy

The smartphone is powered by the A18 chip with a 6-core processor and 4-core graphics processor. This provides high performance and support for Apple Intelligence features. The iPhone 16e features Apple's new C1 modem, which improves power efficiency and provides longer battery life. According to the company, the iPhone 16e can play video for up to 26 hours without recharging.

Camera

The iPhone 16e's main camera has a resolution of 48 MP with Fusion 2-in-1 technology, which allows you to take high-quality photos with 2x optical zoom. Unfortunately, unlike older models, there is no ultra-wide-angle lens and macro shooting function. The 12 MP front-facing camera supports autofocus, providing clear selfies and video calls.

Missing features and limitations

Despite a number of advantages, the iPhone 16e does not support MagSafe technology for wireless charging and accessories. There is also no Camera Control, which is available in other iPhone 16 series models. In addition, the display has a lower brightness compared to the iPhone 16: 800 nits versus 1200 nits in HDR modes.

The starting price of the iPhone 16e in the US is $ 599 for the version with 128 GB of internal memory. The device is available in matte black and white colors. Pre-orders began on February 21, 2025, and official sales started on February 28, 2025. Official sales have not yet started in Ukraine, but some retailers are already offering the possibility of pre-ordering.
